Abstract

The growing environmental consciousness, safety and social requirements of staff, tightening legislation on human food, fierce competition, and rising labour and energy costs are some of the challenges the flour milling industry has to face today. The pressure on profit margins has led to mergers and the concentration of production on mills of higher capacities.
